Golly, the vitriolic hatred of News Corporation spurned by Red and his mates is really sad. This great company spun out of a small Adelaide daily, it’s now one of the worlds pre-eminent media groups. I’ve proudly been a small shareholder for 20 years, many of you guys will be too – through your pension funds. With a media organization if you don’t like them you simply don’t buy their product or don’t watch their station – a beautiful thing about democracy. And with the power of the internet the influence of the majors has diminished so quickly; you can start your own blog for a few quid; if you get enough of a following you can even make a living out of it. Alternatively you can jump onto this forum and spurn your anti News rhetoric cause the tall poppy syndrome is alive and well on this forum. |

Vitriolic hatred? Are you surprised? Do you not comprehend the things they've actually done - and on the grand scale? Plus all this giving them blackmail powers over police and politicians. Murdoch and his cronies deserves every bit of hatred coming their way. Even only till a couple of days ago, he was still trying to be defiant, saying it was all lies, lies, lies - bit like when Blair kept going on there were still weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, when he was the only t__t still saying it, after everyone else had either quietened down or realised they werent there in the first place - and again, yet ANOTHER link there with our old friend Murdoch. How anyone can seek to defend this vile man is beyond me. Just look at all the cases and try to digest how disgusting these events actually were. I was going to say about Murdoch he who lives by the sword dies by the sword, but he was so cowardly, he even got Rebekah Brooks to hold his sword! |

people see exactly what they want to see and disregard the rest and so what do the criminal traitors deserve who have sold this once great nation out... Lisbon treaty? and let us not forget the last Labour administration that allowed councils to use anti terror legislation to spy on parents and put children"s fingerprints and DNA on databases sanctimonious hypocrisy of the highest order by left wing bubble dwellers, pat condell puts it all better than i could in his latest video but the British people need as many alternative news mediums as possible to fight off the left wing International Socialists at the BBC and Guardian. |

Hatred ? Probably a close to it as I can come Aussie.
And that is what it has taken, through the new media of the Twitter, Facebook etc. Challenges to the advertisers that keep the softcore pornography that Murdoch has seduced a generation with from continuing. So many advertisers pulled out of supporting the NotW that they shut it down. One issue without advertising wouldn't pay anyone's wages. And four issues without that revenue they would be in deep mire. So it was a business / economic decision, not a moral decision. Murdoch allowed his Page Three claptrap. He allowed free reign to the culture of phone-hacking, eavesdropping, going through dustbins, hiring private investigators, blagging medical records. Of course, he didn't know about any of this did he? Why should he ? It's a need-to-know business, so if you are called to account, you can say "Honestly" - that you didn't know. BUT - He just permitted the culture and it was the Wades and Coulsons who did the dirty - he didn't know though. He never once asked how did you get that info, Murdoch's lawyers never once asked HOW can we prove it? Of course not Aussie. What would happen if they were told "We've got EMails, voice transcripts, stolen letters from their Wheelie-bin?" As if - "We've secured SKY payment records and can prove that the husband of a Labour politician subscribed to Playboy or something. That's good for the Sun for a few days - and that came after Coulson allegedly convinced Murdoch to support the Tory party instead of Labour. So, as with Nurembourg - who was following orders? Who was giving orders, who knew what was going on? Is that going to be everyone's defence? And most importantly - who and how many kept quiet. That dam of silence is about to break my friend. You can't buy off 375 people. Wade has got a £3.5 million redundacy sign-off with a 'gagging order'. She will be on oath next week :LMAO: PM Cameron has had News Corp executives to Chequers, the massage and ego-stroking country residence of the PM. 26 times in one year.
And he got his repayment. The Murdoch media went after Vince Cable and Nick Clegg, (LibDem coalition partners Aussie) to allow Cameron to remain aloof and spotless after U-Turn after U-turn and disaster after disaster. Now the FBI are involved. If he has allowed anything like his laissez-faire attitude to be rampant in the USA, the guy could end up in jail, alongside Conrad Black - another right-wing media mogul and spreader of lies. Sorry Aussie my friend, but your adulation of Murdoch probably has a sell-by date on it. What the Chief allows, the Chief must be responsible for. It's not like he never questioned a dubious story is it? We have gone from "one rogue reporter" in London, to the Sun (thank you Jude Law) to the USA in two weeks. News Corp is dead in the water. My only worry is the Premier League, how many players will have to earn an average working class wage when SKY goes barss over backwards?? And you won't have Fox and Lowds has to spend time with his family? :LMAO: |

They removed messages from dead girls phone to provide information for a story, and the people at the top sat back and allowed it to happen Any attempt at a defence of the company after that takes some bloody gall. |

[/QUOTE] Thats a bit harsh, I think the rest of the post was "grounded in reality". Maybe not totally relevent to this discussion - but I agree about many people only seeing what they want to. Also, I don't think its unrealistic to have a suspicion that its not just News International that have been up to dodgy tricks. |

Well, well, so now Sean Hoare, a former NOTW reporter who first blew the whistle on the hacking scandal ages ago has been found dead- a man whose evidence would have been very important to the police and Commons inquiries! Dr David Kelly, anyone? Incidentally what amazed me about all this is how easy it is to hack someone's phone. I think most people assumed you needed sophisticated equipment to do it but all you need is the phone's PIN number, and as most people don't bother to change the one that comes with the phone ie. 1234 or 0000 etc its easy. |

How about this Lowds - bought a smile to my face. Various internet hacker groups ( mainly USA) have hacked the Sun and changed their front page: (Sun online been down for hours)
Desert Times Also they claim to have busted the NI servers, discovered Rebecca Brooks (going under her maiden name - Wade) password and have downloaded years of her emails which they intend to publish and tweet. The Biter Bit Smile lowds :LMAO: |

All this takes attention away from another nine billion thrown down the drain( given to the IMF), two illegal wars, Italy looking like they may soon have credit problems, the new localism bill, the comrades trying to double the Euro bailout fund, the islamists trying to have sharia areas in certain parts of London etc etc etc...... my apologies for going off topic maybe thehod could do another scale of Evil?, but i think the nasty mendacious hypocrites will one day get whats coming to them. I put a post on here the other week regarding Dr Kelly, and how that that there were so many contradictions and unanswered questions. What prompted me to post was the issue over the Thames Valley helicopter leaving the scene of the suicide/murder, and they couldn't trace who used it at the time due to the log book being unreadable. The news reported this as a new development but didnt keep with it, which surprised me. The more this scandal goes on, the more it wouldn't surprise me, if this was linked. Also, didn't 'Our Dave' promise they'd carry out a full public enquiry if they came to power, but hey, surprise surprise, then goes and changes his mind when he does get into power (of sorts).....hmmm! When we were told that there's much more to come, I do wonder if cases like this are included. Wouldn't surprise me in the least to be honest. |

Takes attention away from ? Take your medication pest :) You are out on a limb, yet again, and just keep chuntering about the EU or whatever flips across your nueral pulses for a second or two. This is good stuff. The devil is in the details as the saying goes. And as weak as the questions may have been from both committees, today, the proof is emerging. **thumbup Coulson looks like he is going to be the Watergate's John Dean figure. I hope his close friend, and your wet-dream stands by him. Otherwise he will squeal like all Tories do eventually. Take your meds and go to bed. **thumbup |
